🌏 A Life-Changing Opportunity
Being selected as a JICA Scholar to Okinawa was a life-changing experience. I immersed myself in Japanese culture, learned innovative teaching methods, and explored Okinawa’s breathtaking landscapes.
Every morning, I woke up inspired by the harmony between nature and human ingenuity. The experience opened my eyes to new ways of thinking—not only about education, but also about people, communities, and the world we share.
📚 Okinawa: My Classroom Beyond the Classroom
As a scholar, I not only honed my professional skills but also developed a deeper understanding of global perspectives in education.
From attending seminars to visiting local schools, each day became a lesson in patience, resilience, and creativity. I learned that meaningful education is not confined to textbooks or classrooms. It is shaped by culture, community, relationships, and the willingness to learn from others.
Okinawa became more than a destination—it became a classroom for life.

This journey also reminded me of the importance of self-care.
As a stroke survivor, traveling and adjusting to a new environment was challenging. Yet those challenges strengthened both my body and my spirit. Every unfamiliar situation became an opportunity to adapt. Every difficulty became a reminder that resilience is not about having no limitations—it is about continuing to move forward despite them.
My journey taught me that sometimes the greatest achievement is simply having the courage to continue the journey.
🌱 Knowledge That Came Home With Me
I returned home not just with knowledge, but with renewed determination to share what I learned with my students and colleagues.
My time in Okinawa reminded me that learning is a lifelong journey, and that even when life changes our path, we can still choose where the journey takes us.
