Ranked # 2 in the Administrative Officer V Position at DepEd

I just learned from a friend that I got the no. 2 rank in the Administrative Officer V position at SDD - Department of Education Central Office. It was just frustrating that, twice, I was not able to get a vital position at DepEd. First, at the Internal Audit Service where I thought I was in a better position against the other candidates and second, at SDD. I met them all during the final panel interview as we laid down all our cards.

Read Great Men and Women of Asia - Children's Series

Just finished reading supplementary materials about Great Men and Women of Asia - Children's Series. Among those I read were the following:
1) The Man Who Believed in the Poor; 2) The Bridge Builder of Chiayi County; 3) Dancing in Cloud Gate; 4) Khan: A Teacher of Everything; 5) Of Rubber Shoes and the Saddest Baby; 7) Green Clothes for the Yellow Dragaon; and 8) Ang Salot, Ang Lumba-lumba, at Ang Hiwaga sa Laot. I learned so much from these materials.

Why, Oh Why?

At IMCS, the staff have been reviewing old books that were issued to pupils years ago. My Director instructed all of us to check if there were still errors, especially obsolete information, to be found before submitting them to higher officials. As I go deeper, with my review, I found out that there were still errors that need to be corrected. Hopefully, findings will be implemented before books are procured.

Additional Staff at IMCS

Gee, we have additional staff at the office. I like it because our backlogs have been taken care of by our SPES. SPES are students hired by the Department of Education to make their summer vacation a fruitful one. Not only that they would experience working in the government but they would also know office procedures as well.

No Internet Connection for the Whole Day at DepEd

Big hassle. The Department of Education suffered a minor setback on yesterday's communication due to the absence of internet connection. At IMCS, I was not able to print my output on my network printer and had to rely on my boss'es printer through USB.

Sad Flight for DepEd A Chess Team in the Inter Provincial Team Tournament

Whew, I just learned that my team, DepEd A, collapsed under pressure against top teams in Kalibo, Aklan. With 4 games left, DepEd A didn't get a needed win against all the remaining opponents but just a draw in the last round. I was so upset because I wasn't able to help my team in those last four rounds because I returned to Manila due to a previous-assigned task. What touched me most was that I got some kind remarks from my team mates before I left. Haayyy! Next time guys bawi tayo.

Currently in 2nd Place in a Chess Tournament @ Kalibo, Aklan

is playing Inter-Province Chess Tournament at Kalilbo, Aklan. At this point, my team - DepEd A, is currently in 2nd Place after beating Peter I. Kimpo Chess Team Aklan. However, I will be leaving tomorrow morning at 8 a.m. I am so upset. Hopefully FM Jony Habla, Rainier Labay, Ramil Acosta, and Sir Ernie Sayo would maintain the winning streak. Sayang sina Wesley So pa naman ang kalaban namin bukas!

Kalibo, Aklan... Here I Come

I will be in Kalibo, Aklan from April 1 to 4, 2011 as DepEd's representative in the upcoming Inter Province Chess Tournament. I am so glad that, finally, I was given the go signal by my superiors to attend in this prestigious event. I am also praying that I can perform better beyond my team's expectation.

Greatly Blessed!

Wow was the correct word. My family had been greatly blessed this day. Well, my wife won cash, my daughter received an electric fan, and I've got a 14-inch colored TV in a raffle held this morning at P. Gomez Elementary School, Manila, Philippines. I am so flabbergasted, really. God is so good!

The T.V. should not have been given to my wife because I was not present during the raffle when my name was called (I am in the office for an O.T.) but luck was my best friend this time, as one of the Board of Directors approved that the item be given to my wife and kids.

Thank you Lord for these blessings.

I am Too Impressed with Jon 'Bone' Jones Fight at UFC

Early this morning I watched the UFC game between Mauricio Rua (the champion) and Jon "Bone" Jones (the challenger) and I was totally impressed with the later for performing extraordinary and precise combative skills. Jones elbow attacks were so lethal and his leg kicks were so vicious. I overheard from the announcer that, for the record, Jones 'THE FUTURE' will be the youngest champion at the UFC to date.

After the show, I took a rest then headed to the church with my family. We then proceeded to the SM San Lazaro Branch for our dinner and treat the kids at the World of Fun.

On Forlorn Mode About Japan's Eartquake

Got so devastated about what's happening in Japan. It was terrible. I have good memories of my stay there 2 years ago, and I was still in awe as to why this wrath happened to the "Land of the Rising Sun."

To my sensei(s), friends, and the Japanese people - I am praying that you will recover in time. May God bless you on this tragedy.
