Unforgettable Incident

Too many people were caught unprepared yesterday, including me, as Kalentong place was flooded in such a short span of continuous raining.  I spent more than 7 hours on the street waiting for the jeep and other vehicles to bring me to Quiapo, unfortunately, there was none. I was so wet, literally and figuratively.  I felt sudden numbness in my fingers and feet as I trekked the river-like areas of New Panaderos Ext. going through Kalentong Fire Station.

The good thing that happened was when I spotted a 24/7 McDonald's Station nearby which was not affected by the water surge.  At McDonald's, I was able to pee and relieve myself of the lo ng-standing tension that I kept for a long time.  Thereafter, I went to the counter to order my favorite Chicken Spaghetti meal and an extra rice.  I thought I could eat everything.

I looked outside but the situation hasn't changed - no movements of vehicles and the other areas were still flooded.

After 4 hours, I ordered again, medium-sized coffee and regular fries.  Just when I conditioned myself to stay at McDonald's until the morning of the next day, I heard and noticed some commotion outside.  There I saw this ten-wheeler truck outside (with its staff) which was accommodating passengers for free.

I looked at my watch and I saw that it was already 1:30 a.m.  OMG! I  immediatelygrabbed  my backpack and took my chance to be with people who also wanted to be with their families.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the owner, the driver, and the staff of the truck below, who accommodated us, even without payments, whatsoever.  Thumbs up to you guys! This post of mine is my simple way of extending my wholehearted gratitude.

At last, I could go home.

But my happiness was short-lived as the truck coursed through the Lourdes Hospital near Don Bosco and Baltao Streets and after passing through submerged areas, it stuck.  The passengers still waited for about ten minutes, but since there were no motion and action we decided to leave the vehicle.

I found out that it was impossible to move due to massive cars and trucks in front of us.

To cut this long story short, I walked from Baltao to Quiapo in the early morning of August 12, 2018 and had cramps along the way.

I felt the exhaustion after I reached the Quiapo Church wherein my strength was renewed.  Thank you, Lord, for these unseen blessings.

Amazing Workshop Activity

I attended the Curriculum Contextualization Policy Finalization on June 13-14, 2018 at SEDA Vertis Hotel, Quezon City.  The Finalization was attended by technical staff from the Curriculum and Instruction of the Department of Education - Bureau of Curriculum Development, Bureau of Learning Delivery, Bureau of Education Assessment, and of course, the Bureau of Learning Resources were I belong.

I have been very serious during the training and I hardly gave my prepared jokes.  During the closing ceremony, the focal person gave an activity with a twist.  We, the participants, were asked to write comments to each other using a color-coded cartolina.  Each color meant something but I forgot to jot down the meaning of each. I just got these cut-outs after 3 months and I am so happy to see these comments.

The activity was so nice and I suggest it to anyone to do it in your future workshop.

Thank you for reading guys.
